This is Wayne Merry. He was quiet and soft spoken, but had amazing stories to tell. He was one of a group of four who climbed El Capitan in Yosemity for the first time.

He also told us about cross country skiing on Lake Atlin in northern BC near the Yukon border, when the ice started to give way.

When I googled him not long ago, I found additional photos and details of him and his friends on the the first El Cap ascent. I also saw that he passed away. Amazing guy.
